For this vintage, 15% of the total quantity was fermented with indigenous yeasts using the “pied de cuve” technique. We picked the desired amount of grapes and pressed them in vessels at our vineyard; this way we allowed the fermentation to start right there, taking advantage of the population of native yeasts present. Bright pomegranate color with blueish hues. Fruity nose -mostly with cherry, as well as strawberry, blueberry and blackberry- complemented by elegant brioche notes. Addedly on the palate, the oily sensation is elegantly balanced by the vibrant acidity.

The Tokaj legend has grown and grown in its four-hundred years of history, but it was not until 1630, when the greatness of Oremus vineyard was first spoken of. Today, it is the one with greatest universal acclaim.
The Tokaj region lies within the range of mountains in Northeast Hungary. Oremus winery is located at the geographical heart of this region.

Rich in texture, this stylish aromatic wine is delicately balanced by a refreshing palate that leads into a complex finish. Ovilos White is a most exciting blend of two grape varieties, Assyrtiko and Semillon, grown in the warmest but most barren spot in the Estate’s vineyard located on the slopes of Mount Pangeon. The Semillon’s fragrant expression and ageing ability are complemented by the strength, structure and exceptional freshness of the Assyrtiko. After a brief maceration period on the skins, the wine is fermented in French oak and left in contact with the lees in barrel for a few months to add structure and complexity. The grape from which the musts for our Pedro Ximénez Triana come from is a Pedro Ximénez grape, subjected to different degrees of sunlight, and after very careful preparation, musts with great sugar content are obtained. Its fermentation, slow and at a controlled temperature, produces wines that preserve all the aromas and characteristics of the Pedro Ximénez grapes.

1096 | Peplo  Pale, brilliant color, the soft coral with red gold hues. Intense and fresh on the nose with aromas of watermelon, strawberry, white flowers, such as violet and rose petals, coupled with lemon citrus, grapefruit and a hint of minerality. On the palate, it has a medium body, nerve and acidity, structure and complexity, coming from acacia and clay. Flavors are consistent with aromas while the finish is long with developing flavors. Each variety contributes with 1/3 to the wine. The Syrah ages on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, the Agiorgitiko in Acacia barrels and the Mavrofilero
in egg shaped amphoras with skin contact for 4 months.
Peplo. A detail, that gave the name to the wine. The skin of the Mavrofilero is contained in a fabric within the amphora to allow a better control during the extraction process.
